The Y is made up of diverse people working side by side to strengthen our communities. ANNUAL EVENTS

  • Diwali

    Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Lights, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and awareness of your inner. On Diwali night Hindus light Diyas, clay pots with oil that are lit all night long. In October, community members celebrated this Festival of Lights at Somerset Hills YMCA. See more

  • Chinese Moon Festival

    The Chinese Moon Festival is an ancient Chinese and Vietnamese tradition that celebrates the harvest moon as a symbol of peace, prosperity and family reunion. In September, community members gathered at Somerset Hills YMCA to enjoy demonstrations by US Olympic Table Tennis Team Coach, Lily Yip; and Go Game master, Feng Yun, plus music, tea and moon cakes.   • Holi Hindu Festival of Colors

    Holi is a traditional Hindu festival to celebrate the beginning of spring with abundant colors and vibrant life. Our members shared in this wonderfully colorful and joyous celebration in March at Somerset Hills YMCA. The event included singing and dancing to Bollywood music and a carnival of colorful Gulal powder. See photos
