To create a community united in fighting the heroin/opiate crisis, reducing the stigma of addiction and preventing overdose deaths.
A community action plan has been designed based on the evidence-based NJ Governor's 2014 Report, "Confronting New Jersey’s NEW Drug Problem: A Strategic Action Plan to Address a Burgeoning Heroin/Opiate Epidemic Among Adolescents and Young Adults.”
The multifaceted plan, intended to address the prescription drug and heroin/opiate epidemic among adolescents in hopes of reducing the number of fatal overdoses, was presented at a town hall meeting, ‘Community in Crisis,’ June 26th 2014 at the Bernards High School Performing Arts Center at 7pm. Community agencies, organizations, schools, churches and parent coalitions are united to fight this scourge on our youth and adolescents.
